Vanessa Merton, Esq., Associate Dean for Clinical Education, Professor of Law
and clinical supervisor of the Immigration Justice Clinic at the Pace Law School,
on Jack Tuckner:
I know that it isn't always easy, even in New York City, to find lawyers in private
practice who truly "get it" and are real fighters for their clients, not just in it for
the money. My dear friend and former student when I taught at CUNY, Jack
Tuckner, is a founding partner of just such a firm. Jack is the greatest: an ex-
professional actor, ex-Legal Aid Criminal Defense Division trial lawyer,
flamboyant, unflappable, brilliant, savvy, clever, sweet, kind, compassionate,
funny, dedicated, insanely hard-working, and with a serious jones for justice.

Society back in the day when the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys was young

representation of women, LGBT or otherwise, who have been denied their rights
or victimized in the workplace -- whether because they also are victims of
domestic violence [see NYC's progressive new law] or not. But of course, they
are not about to turn away a man who needs help, either. If you know someone
who needs a consultation -- or if you should ever want to work with such a firm
-- I wanted you to know about Jack.
[Vanessa Merton is also the Executive Director of the Law
School's free legal clinic, John Jay Legal Services, and co-
founder of the Access to Health Care and Health in the
