Firm Background
Our commitment to employee rights flows from the previous committed legal
activism of Sipser, Weinstock, Harper and Dorn, LLP, an outstanding
employment law firm that exemplified the ethos of justice for the underserved.
Founded in 1948 by I. Philip Sipser, a charismatic and compassionate attorney
and pioneer in civil rights and labor law, Sipser Weinstock represented unions
across the country for nearly fifty years. I. Philip Sipser (1918-2001) navigated
an incredible legal career through the rocky shoals of reactionary-infested
waters. Among his clients were auto workers, iron workers, social workers, film
editors, brewery and soft drink workers, museum employees, and especially
opera and symphony musicians. He was credited by New York Times writer
Donal Henehan as being "the Moses" of the symphony and orchestra members.
He was honored in October 1998 with a Lifetime Struggle and Achievement
Award by the citizens of Central Brooklyn, and by New York's U.S. House of
Representative member Major R. Owens.
Tuckner, Sipser's dedication and passion for advancing women's rights in the
workplace was greatly inspired by the early activism of Sipser, Weinstock,
Harper and Dorn, LLP. Committed to the ongoing struggle for workplace
equality, our firm provides vital advocacy for those who have been undermined
and marginalized by unjust employment policies.
