Michelle Kornblit
Michelle Kornblit is a senior at New York University's College of Arts and
Sciences. She is majoring in both Philosophy and Politics, and is a Presidential
Honors Scholar. Michelle recently received a prestigious President's Service
Award at NYU for her work in Social Justice. For over two years, Michelle has
been a legal intern at Tuckner & Sipser. Michelle spent a year learning at
Midreshet Lindenbaum, an advanced institute for women's Jewish studies in
Jerusalem, Israel. She is currently a volunteer intern for JOFA, the Jewish
Orthodox Feminist Alliance, working to "expand the spiritual, ritual,
intellectual and political opportunities for women within the framework of
Orthodox Judaism". She has also volunteered for Uri L'Tzedek, a social justice
organization dedicated to empowering individuals to work towards a more just
world. Michelle is deeply passionate and committed to the advancement of
human rights and plans to apply to law school in the Fall.
Stefan Oxley
Stefan Oxley moved to New York from England to pursue his education. At
Hunter College, Stefan studied Political Science and Philosophy, graduating
both Magna Cum Laude, and with department honors for his thesis on The
Supreme Court and privacy rights. Stefan is now in the process of applying to
various law schools throughout the United States. At law school, Stefan intends
to pursue his passion of public interest law with a focus on progressive causes.
Presently, Stefan works as a legal intern at the Law firm of Tuckner Sipser.
Charlotte Tuckner
Charlotte attends the State University of New York in Buffalo where she is duel
majoring in Special Education and English. Her plan after graduating, is to
work for the Peace Corps in Africa with a view toward protecting and advancing
the rights of young women and children. Charlotte feels that it is important
that people care for one another, especially for those in need, because without
universal compassion, there is only minimal justice in this world, and that is
neither right, nor acceptable.
Her experience as an intern at Tuckner, Sipser, Weinstock and Sipser, has
taught her the value of having a strong voice and speaking with conviction; it
has also verified that speaking up for those who cannot speak up for themselves,
will make this world a better place. Whether at SUNY Buffalo, Tuckner, Sipser,
the wilds of Africa or teaching special education back in the states, Charlotte
will continue to be a strong advocate for justice as she levels playing fields and
helps those who cannot optimally help themselves.
Antonia Donato
Antonia Donato is a Public Relations Associate with Tuckner, Sipser, Weinstock
& Sipser and has been at the firm since October of 2009. She most recently
studied communications and marketing at University of Delaware. Currently
finishing her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Antonia aspires to become a full
time publicist after she graduates from college.
Serving as the primary liaison between Tuckner, Sipser and the media, Antonia
works to promote the progressive work of the firm so that more working women
facing employment challenges will be aware of their legal rights and what
actions to take when a violation to those rights occurs. With a strong
background in marketing, promotions, and event planning on her college
campus community, Antonia is highly passionate about the public relations
industry. In addition, she has been highly invested in the work at Tuckner,
Sipser. Deeply inspired by attorneys Jack Tuckner and William Sipser to
represent women who have been marginalized by unjust employment practices,
Antonia plans to continue to work as an advocate for women’s workplace rights.
Outside of her work at Tuckner, Sipser, Antonia is a peer mentor and active
alumnus of Streetwise Partners, a nonprofit entrepreneurial-spirited
organization that has linked thousands of volunteer business professionals to
serve as mentors to low income adults and youth through Career Venture
programs. She enjoys networking, event planning, and writing. A native New
Yorker, Antonia also loves experiencing and taking advantage of the rich artistic
culture of the city, and frequently attends art exhibitions and musical
performances in her spare time.
Nickie Yeung
Nickie Yeung is presently a senior student of Fordham University in New York.
After attaining her bachelor’s degree in Sociology, she plans to pursue her
studies of Law in the United Kingdom.
As an international student, Nickie loves to travel and has also lived in
Washington D.C. prior to moving to New York. Ideally, she hopes to be able to
keep traveling and living in more exciting places along with a fulfilling career in
law.
Deandra Khan
Deandra recently graduated from Hunter College as an English Literature and
Political Science double major. Her interest in political theory and ethics,
combined with her passion for social justice, has compelled her to consider a
career in law and to intern at Tuckner, Sipser.
She believes that Tuckner, Sipser's mission to empower women and other
underrepresented groups through the law represents a critical step forward in
the fight for equality, and is glad to be part of such a progressive team.
Ilana Nutkis
Ilana Nutkis studied Sociology and Philosophy at Stern College for Women of
Yeshiva University. After college, her work in the non-profit sector inspired
Ilana's dream of pursuing a career in public interest. She is committed to the
goal of universal human rights, and hopes to work with underrepresented
groups in protecting personal freedoms and promoting equality.
Being an intern at Tuckner, Sipser has been a uniquely rewarding experience,
exposing Ilana to the dynamic field of employment law while also giving her the
opportunity to focus on her passion for women's issues. Ilana is currently
applying to law schools in New York, Chicago, and Washington DC and looks
forward to an exciting and challenging career in law.
